They say that nothing in life is certain. Whoever they are, they clearly have not visited Scotland in the summer time because grey, wet, miserable weather is an absolute certainty! We have a word for this sort of weather: Dreich. It's one of my favourite Scottish words. Even saying it feels miserable!

Mossy, earthy, and beautifully green. Many of my summer times were spent looking out of the windae at Dreich weather, wishing I could be somewhere hot and sunny. But now that I'm an auld woman, I love dreich weather.
